Orland California - The Orland Wastewater
Treatment Plant consists of four non-aerated primary treatment ponds with a combined total of 53 surface acres. In the first seven months of treatment 40,603 cubic yards of sludge has been removed by the Ennix process
out of an inventory of 70,000 cubic yards. The removal rate of 58% to date has
exceeded expectations as the lagoons have been in service for fifty years without sludge removal. Plant management reports marked improvement in discharge water quality and improved clarity throughout
the lagoon system.
