Coachella California – Series of 2 Aeration Ponds receiving approximately 1 MGD of primary influent per day. Over a 16 month period, 69% or 6,139 cu. yds of sludge have been removed from Pond 1 and 70% or 9,148
cu. yds. of sludge have been removed from Pond 2. These figures do not include
approximately 540 dry tons of solids introduced into the lagoon through the primary influent.
The lagoon system has remained in service throughout the project. Treatment
results include decreased BOD5 and TSS levels in discharge effluent and improved water clarity.
